How to write your best novel

How long does it take to write a novel? How are ideas born? And, finally, how long should I take to write a first draft?

When I talk with people and I tell them that I'm writing a novel, they picture me in some cave with one candle, a cup of coffee and an amulet wiriting for telve hours straight about some fantasy that sparked in my mind as perfect as they read it.

But reality couldn't be farther than that.

Writing a novel is outlining (in my case), rethinking ideas, writing them down in a scheme, writing down scenes, rethinking them, picturing characters, drafting, redrafting. It's a process of making and unmaking until what comes out is appealing to your own eyes and to the eyes of a potential reader.

In this video, that you can also find on my YouTube channel, Orior X, (the X is a substitute for my surname) I'll tell you something about my personal project and the cardinal rules that helped me writing it.

Check it out and let me know what you think of it in the comments! I'm all ears for critisism as well. If you want to read something mine, subscribe to this website and get a free piece of writing!

Happy WIP. and may your publication dreams come true.
